Natalie Maines was born in Lubbock, Texas, to Tina May Maines and country music producer Lloyd Maines. She went to Nat Williams Elementary School in Lubbock, where her second-grade teacher recalled Maines saying, “Teacher, I don’t need to study this stuff—I’m going to be a star,” during a math lesson.
Maines graduated from Lubbock High School in 1992 after participating in the school choir while she was a cheerleader at O. L. Slaton Junior High School.
Natalie Maines’ famous parents are Lloyd and Tina, May Maines.
American country music record producer, performer, and songwriter Lloyd is her daughter’s father. Her mother Tina has kept her career details private.
The Dixie Chicks released Taking the Long Way in 2006 with Maines continuing to perform as the lead vocalist. Five Grammy Awards were subsequently given to the record (including Album of the Year).
On July 17, 2020, the Chicks’ album Gaslighter was made available. Mother, a solo album by Maines, was made available on May 7, 2013.
